I discovered yoga in the mid 90’s while working as an advertising executive. The toll that such a stressful environment had on my body and mind was unbearable, and yoga helped me to heal physically and mentally. I have been hooked ever since, practicing and studying a variety of styles with many wonderful teachers. I am incredibly grateful to have studied with a variety of teachers including Sarah Trelease, Renee Sills, Michael Stone, Amy Matthews, Jill Knouse, and Annie Carpenter, and received my 200-hour RYT certification in Portland, Oregon with Sarah Trelease. Soon after, I completed my Curvy Yoga Certification with Anna Guest-Jelley, founder of Curvy Yoga and author of Yoga and Body Image. I will be pursuing my 500-hour certification in the Fall of 2015 through Sola School of Contemplative Arts. I currently teach Curvy Yoga, Vinyasa, Hatha, and Restorative yoga in the Portland area.
A good yoga teacher never stops being a student. As I continue my studies, my love for yoga deepens and my purpose becomes clearer: to make yoga real and accessible for EVERY body, and to be an advocate for body image positivity. It is my intention to bring joy, fascination and a sense of nurturing to my students, through an honest, down-to-earth exploration of breath, awareness, movement and compassion.
